I saw Rockhopper today. Rockhopper recently arrived in Club Penguin again aboard his ship, the Migrator. He sometimes appears in the game and will talk to penguins and give away a free autographed player background card. I searched on Google to find a good Tracker for Rockhopper to find him but I think many other people were using it too, because every single time I tried to log into the server where he was, the server was full. After a long while I kind of gave up on trying to spot him but then I got super lucky because Rockhopper found me. I was at the Beach and he showed up. He seems like a really friendly person, especially for a pirate! After that, a lot of other penguins started piling into the area and all of the sudden it was so crowded and everyone was shouting at Rockhopper. Fortunately before things got too crazy I was able to get his free background picture. I was totally thrilled to finally meet him on Clubpenguin and I am seriously looking forward to the next time he visits.

Captain Rockhopper is a famous and friendly pirate penguin that often sails to Club Penguin aboard his ship, called the Migrator. His visits are usually spaced apart by several weeks or months and often coincide with special events in the game. His trusty friend and companion, Yarr the red puffle, always arrives with him. When he arrives, he always docks his ship at the Beach, right behind the Lighthouse. One of the best parts of Rockhopper's visits is that he always brings along special items that can only be obtained during his visit. These items are generally only for paid members in the game, but he always brings at least one free item with him that everyone can get.

One of the most fun things to do when Rockhopper is on the island in Club Penguin is to try and locate him. Rockhopper will start appearing on random servers and move from place to place. If you find him you can have an autographed picture that can be used as a player card background. When Rockhopper is online he appears just like a large red penguin except that he wears a pirate hat, and a long black beard which help him stand out.

You can see when he is arriving by looking for his ship out in the ocean from the telescope at the Beacon. Rockhopper's ship will begin to appear roughly a week prior to his arrival on the island. In a famous incident in early 2008, Rockhopper's ship struck an iceberg and sank. Rockhopper and Yarr arrived on the island in a rowboat and Gary led all of the penguins on the island in a team effort to repair Rockhopper's ship. This event led to the launch of a new game on Club Penguin called Aqua Grabber.

If you want to spot Rockhopper while he is staying on the island, use some basic strategies. Look for him during peak times (evenings and weekends) when he is most likely to appear. Try to team up with friends to locate him. Spread out across different servers. Try using a a Rockhopper Tracker to try and find out which server he is on and then go from room to room on that server. Don't worry and try to be patient. A lot of times a sound strategy is to select a popular server and simply hang out and wait for him to arrive.

Rockhopper is a well-known red pirate penguin that often sails to Club Penguin on his sailing ship, the Migrator. He usually comes to the island every two months and usually his appearance heralds a big party. His trusty friend and companion, Yarr the red puffle, always arrives with him. When he arrives, he always docks his ship at the Beach, right behind the Lighthouse. Rockhopper brings rare items from Rockhopper Island. Usually one of the items is a free item that non-members can purchase, but the rest of the items he brings are for members only.

Finding Rockhopper during his visit is a very popular and fun activity in Club Penguin. While he is visiting, he will often appear on one particular server at a time and move from room to room. The reward for finding him is a special player card background image showing Rockhopper and his autograph. When Rockhopper is online he appears just like a large red penguin except that he wears a pirate hat, and a long black beard which help him stand out.

The best way to know when Rockhopper is arriving is to had to the beacon on top of the lighthouse. There is a telescope there and you can look through it and see his ship when it's coming. Rockhopper's ship will begin to appear roughly a week before he arrives on the island. In a well-known incident in February, 2008, the Migrator struck a large iceberg and was heavily damaged. Rockhopper and Yarr used a lifeboat to reach the island safely and Gary the Gadget Guy led all of Club Penguin in a huge project to rebuild Rockhopper's ship. This event led to the release of a new game on Club Penguin called Aqua Grabber.

In order to find Rockhopper while he is on the island, adhere to some basic strategies. Search for him during busy times (evenings and weekends) when he is most likely to be there. Get together with friends to spot him. Divide into search party teams and go to the popular servers. Use a Rockhopper Tracker to try and find out which server he is on and then go from room to room on that server. Don't worry and try to be patient. Sometimes a smart strategy is to pick a popular server and just wait for him to come to you.

On February 16,2010, the largest toy fair in the  Western Hemisphere came to New York City!  The Engage Expo, brought together the leaders from the technology, toy, game and entertainment fields.  A keynote speaker at the expo was none other than Lane Merrifield, aka  “Billybob”.

There were more than 40 Exhibitors at the Toy Fair including Disney Interactive.  At the Disney Interactive meeting room, kids and adults got a chance to try out the virtual worlds of Club Penguin, Pirates of the Carribean, Fairies Pixie Hollow, ToonTown and the soon to be released game, World of Cars based on the move “Cars”.

At the expo, Club Penguin also unveiled the new DS game ”Herberts Revenge”.

Some other exciting news is how playing on Club Penguin and Disney Interactive’s other virtual worlds will change in the future…….what do iPod Touch’s, iPhone’s and iPad’s all have in common? The ability to interact with the device using a touch screen! Its not confirmed yet but Disney Interactive’s Virtual Worlds (including Club Penguin!) should be coming to those devices in the future! Here’s the interview with Billybob from the Toy Fair where he talks about the future of virtual worlds like Club Penguin.
