2012 and the ‘Black Oceans’ Hopi Prophecies

Those who study the events that are leading to the year 2012 and its predicted calamities frequently cite the Mayan prophecies in their interpretations of the “end time” signs. I find the prophecies of the Hopi Indians to be much more interesting, in many respects — and chilling. The Hopis are a Native American people who live in the Four Corners area of the American Southwest, where they have managed to survive and thrive in one of the most inhospitable regions in the United States.

The Hopis have sacred ceremonies and other traditions that are never permitted to be viewed by outsiders. They also have a long tradition of visions told by various elders over the years, and which have been shared with the outside world. These are the Hopi prophecies.

The Hopi prophecies don’t make predictions for a specific year, such as 2012. Instead they merely describe events to take place at the end of the world — or more accurately, at the end of the present age, when a savior figure will arrive to chastise and redeem the earth’s inhabitants. There is one Hopi prophecy that came to light decades ago and which is startling, given recent events. It says that in the end times, the world’s seas will turn black.

As I write this, the media are reporting that the oil spill from the rig accident in the Gulf of Mexico is many times worse than first feared. Ominously, the plumes of oil are about to reach the Gulf Stream, which could carry the stuff into the Atlantic to wash up everywhere from the beaches of North Carolina and New Jersey to the shores of Ireland and Cornwall — and beyond.

Many of the predictions for the year 2012 paint a dire picture of the death of our oceans, an event the prognosticators say could occur by then, if not before. The poisoning of our seas and the loss of the life within them would be an environmental catastrophe such as the world has never seen.

The strange Hopi prophecy of black oceans fits this 2012 doomsday scenario perfectly. A massive, unstoppable oil link could easily lead to the death of the sea in just one or two years. This is one prophecy that may be coming true right before our eyes.
